# Install and update

Use Keli with local folders, a terminal, and control of your computer.

Download the installer for your computer:

## On a Mac

1. Open the downloaded DMG and move Keli into Applications.
2. Open Keli and sign in with your existing account.
3. When you request computer control, grant **Accessibility** and **Screen Recording** in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Keli asks for consent as well.

## On Windows

1. Run the installer and follow its prompts.
2. Open Keli and sign in.
3. For isolated terminal actions and Auto mode, install and start Docker Desktop with Linux containers enabled.

Windows supports terminal and computer-use tools. Terminals use Git Bash when available, otherwise PowerShell. WSL folders run terminals and git inside the selected Linux distribution. A sandboxed terminal cannot mount a WSL folder; use a Windows folder for that operation.

Computer control cannot send input to elevated windows or a locked screen. Do not bypass security controls to make an action work.

## Updates and the tray

Installed builds check for updates automatically. Follow the app’s update prompt and restart when asked. Keep the app open, including in the tray, for scheduled tasks; quitting stops scheduled runs.

## Stop an action

The computer-control banner tells you when Keli is driving your computer. Press **Esc** to stop. [Approvals](/approvals) explains the permission scopes; [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting) covers Docker and update messages.
