# Voice on mobile

Talk with Keli on iOS and Android and control spoken replies.

Use **Voice mode** from the chat screen to talk through a task. Allow microphone access when asked, and speech recognition access if your phone requests it.

## Start a voice conversation

1. Open the chat you want to use and tap the **Voice mode** control.
2. Follow the on-screen listening prompt and say what you need.
3. Listen to the reply and continue the conversation.
4. Close voice mode to return to text chat. Completed voice exchanges appear in the conversation.

Try a short request first: “Help me make a packing list for a three-day trip. Ask me one question at a time.”

## Choose a voice

Open **Settings → Voice** to select a voice and hear a short preview. The same voice is used for voice conversations and read-aloud replies. **Auto-read replies** controls whether text-chat replies are read aloud automatically. Turn it off when you prefer to read replies yourself.

## Reply actions

Finished replies have **Copy**, **Share**, and **Read aloud** buttons underneath. Tap **Play** to hear a reply, then **Stop** to end playback. The last assistant reply also has **Regenerate** to try again. These actions work on completed voice replies too.

## If Keli cannot hear you

Check microphone access for Keli in your phone's settings. On iOS, also check speech recognition permission if it was requested. Move somewhere quieter and check whether a connected headset is using a different microphone.

If you cannot hear replies, check your media volume and the audio output selected on your phone. Try without Bluetooth headphones to see whether audio is going to another device.

Voice requests need an internet connection. If voice is unavailable, return to text chat and type your request. See [Troubleshooting](/troubleshooting) if the problem continues.
