Chats and tasks

Find an earlier conversation and keep the work you need close at hand.

A chat is a conversation. A task is a scheduled request that the desktop app runs later.

Find and organize chats

Use the sidebar history and search to find a chat. Open its menu to rename, pin, archive, or delete it. A descriptive name—“September workshop notes”—is easier to find than “New chat.” Archiving takes a chat out of your everyday list; deleting removes it.

Change a message

Use the controls on a message to edit your request or regenerate an answer. Review the new response before relying on it. Start a fresh chat for unrelated work: long conversations bring their history along and can use more credits.

Scheduled tasks

Ask the desktop app to schedule a task in ordinary words: “Every weekday at nine, summarize this folder’s new notes.” Review the schedule before accepting it.

Scheduled tasks fire only while the desktop app is open. Leaving it in the tray counts; quitting does not. You can pause or delete a task. Schedules cannot currently be edited; replace a task if its instructions or timing need to change.
